Nexa Becomes OG’s New Captain

OG have announced the acquisition of a 24-years-old Serbian player Nemanja "nexa" Isaković. He will became the team’s new captain, replacing at this position Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen. The latter was transferred to G2 Esports.

For the last three years, nexa has been part of G2 Esports – although few months ago the team managed to come second at PGL Major Stockholm 2021, in grand finals of which they lost to NAVI, their results throughout the season have been inconsistent and rather disappointing. For this reason, G2 decided to update their roster.

As for OG, they have also been showing inconsistent results, seeing as they finished 3rd – 4th at both EPL 14 and BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown, but placed 11th at IEM XVI Fall Europe and 9-12th at IEM XVI – Winter. On top of nexa’s acquisition, the organization also signed 32-years-old Austrian Alexander "kakafu" Szymanczyk as an assistant coach – earlier he worked with Unicorns of Love and BIG.

Later this week OG will debut at BLAST Premier Spring Groups within Group B. Their first match against Astralis is scheduled for January 29th, 3:00 PM UK time. The group also includes NAVI and MIBR.
