G2 Esports Are the Champions of LEC Spring 2022
G2 Esports have emerged victorious at LEC Spring 2022, thus becoming the fifth team to qualify for Mid-Season Invitational 2022. In the grand finale of the European league they defeated Rogue, claiming €80,000 in prize money.
Rogue were the leaders of the group stage with a 14-4 score and later made it through the upper bracket, where they defeated Misfits Gaming (3-1) and Fnatic (3-2). Meanwhile G2’s way to the grand finale was not so straightforward, as the team finished the group with an 11-7 score, which was just enough to qualify for the upper bracket. There, however, they lost the very first series to Fnatic (1-3). Later in the lower bracket they won three series in a row with a 3-0 score – they defeated Vitality, Misfits and Fnatic. The grand finale also concluded with a 3-0 score in their favour.

LEC Spring 2022 was played in Berlin, Germany from January 14th to April 10th. The tournament’s prize pool was set at €200,000. Now G2 Esports will compete at Mid-Season Invitational 2022, which will be held next month in South Korea. Currently the line-up also includes DetonatioN FocusMe (LJL), Intanbul Wildcats (TCL), ORDER (LCO) and T1 (LCK).
