FaZe Clan have emerged victorious at ESL Pro League Season 15, while the team’s newest member – Robin "ropz" Kool – has been chosen as the event’s MVP by hltv. Thanks to their victory over ENCE in the grand finals, FaZe claimed $190,000 in prize money and a place at BLAST World Final 2022.
Both FaZe and ENCE started the event in Group B, where they placed 3rd and 2nd respectively. On their way to the grand finals, ENCE defeated Fnatic (2-0), Movistar Riders (2-1), and Ninjas in Pyjamas (2-0), while FaZe Clan managed to beat Players (2-1), Natus Vincere (2-0), and FURIA Esports (2-0).
In the grand finale the teams started by winning the opponents’ picks – FaZe won ENCE’s Vertigo with a 16-11 score, but later lost their Overpass during overtime (19:17). Then FaZe also outplayed their opponents at Mirage (16:9) and Dust II (16:12), thus finishing with a 3-1 score.
Playoffs Bracket:
Prior to the event, FaZe Clan were ranked #2 in the world by hltv. This January they replaced Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer Gustafsson with Robin "ropz" Kool, and since then the team has been on a winning streak – earlier in February they won both BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2022 and IEM XVI – Katowice. Later this week the team will participate in the RMR-event for PGL Major Antwerp 2022.
ESL Pro League Season 15 was played from March 9th to April 10th in Düsseldorf, Germany. The event featured 24 teams competing for a $823,000 prize pool and an invite to BLAST World Final 2022.
